get a decent make of wax then you could straighten some bits and spike others for a bit of a funky do Dax wax is good its made for men get it from hairdressers but soften it in hot water otherwise it will feel like its ripping your hair out .....trust me nobody told me that bit and it hurts !!!!!!!

My suggestions, since I still have to go through a year of akward hairstyles, is get it styled and cut just like you would when your hair is at the length you want it. Wear tiny little ponytails as soon as you can. But lots of hair accessories. And be patient. Most girls I know end up getting a haircut because they can't take it anymore. I promise, eventually it gets long again!
