i think that is a cool look to take on. glad you are up to challenge it.

to grow out your hair i would use conditioner every time you wash it. instead of just washing and go, always use a conditioner. it will help strengthen the hair shaft, and will result in a little bit more faster growth. be sure to stay away from gels and hairspray for they can cause the slower progression of hair growth. it doesnt' allow the hair to breathe as much. good luck. you should be there in no time. you are moussy to dark brown. do you also plan to dye it blonde as well when you reach your desired lenght?

keep ur hair the way it is now guys hair grows fast anywas so when it grows out the ends will automitacally look like that and u can get the top of ur hair but into those long choppy pieces just take the pictures u listed above to ur local salon!

that's such a great look! just keep growning your hair out and brushing it down so when it's long enough you can just go to a hairstylest and show him the pic and he can shape it more for you.

Basically, let the back grow out and the top will follow. Just make sure it is not too long or you'll have a mullet like Joe Dirt. It is a cool cut though.
